GHK-Cu

Price range: $67.00 through $87.00

GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper(II) complex) is a naturally occurring copper tripeptide with the amino acid sequence Gly-His-Lys chelated with a Cu²⁺ ion. The molecular weight of the GHK-Cu complex is approximately 403.93 Da. First identified in human plasma, GHK-Cu has emerged as a compound of substantial interest in wound healing, extracellular matrix remodeling, and skin biology research.

In fibroblast and keratinocyte models, GHK-Cu has demonstrated significant effects on collagen synthesis, with studies reporting upregulation of collagen types I, III, and V mRNA expression. Proteomic analysis of GHK-Cu-treated dermal fibroblasts has identified modulation of over 4,000 genes, with notable upregulation of genes associated with extracellular matrix production and downregulation of inflammatory cytokine expression. These findings position GHK-Cu as a broad-spectrum modulator of tissue remodeling gene networks.

Preclinical wound healing models have shown that GHK-Cu promotes angiogenesis as measured by endothelial tube formation assays and VEGF expression analysis. In scratch assay wound models using fibroblast monolayers, GHK-Cu treatment has been associated with accelerated closure rates compared to untreated controls. Additionally, studies in chondrocyte cultures suggest GHK-Cu influences glycosaminoglycan synthesis, expanding research applications to cartilage biology.

Antioxidant research has identified GHK-Cu as a modulator of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase activity in cell culture systems. The copper ion component facilitates catalytic antioxidant activity, while the tripeptide moiety influences cellular upadminister in research settingsand tissue distribution in explant models. Hair follicle organ culture studies have also investigated GHK-Cu for its effects on follicular proliferation markers.

Erosyn Labs supplies GHK-Cu as a lyophilized blue-tinged powder at ≥98% purity verified by HPLC. Copper content is confirmed via ICP-MS analysis, and each lot includes a comprehensive Certificate of Analysis. Reconstitution in sterile water or physiological saline is recommended, yielding a characteristic blue solution. The lyophilized compound should be stored at -20°C, protected from moisture. Reconstituted solutions should be maintained at 2–8°C and used within 21 days. Avoid contact with chelating agents (e.g., EDTA) that may strip the copper ion from the complex.

For research and laboratory use only. Not for human consumption.
